Three Men In A Boat
Zavvi International
George (Laurence Harvey), Harris (Jimmy Edwards) and J (David Tomlinson) decide to have a holiday on the Thames. George cancels engagements with his many girlfriends, Harris informs all restaurants that he will be out of town and J explains to his wife that a holiday apart would be a novel idea. The three men set out to rendezvous at Hampton Court but, on the way, George meets three attractive girls who are also holidaying on the river. With their interest piqued, the trio follow the girls to Henley Regatta but things don't quite go to plan...Never released commercially and only seen infrequently since its original theatrical release in the mid-50s, Three Men in a Boat is a much sought-after, whimsical comedy in the same vein as those made by Ealing in the same decade. Starring Laurence Harvey (Room at the Top), Jimmy Edwards (The Plant) and David Tomlinson (Mary Poppins), it is directed by the Oscar-nominated Ken Annakin (Those Magnificent Men in their Flying Machines). This release features a brand new, anamorphic transfer taken from the original 35mm film elements., George (Laurence Harvey), Harris (Jimmy Edwards) and J (David Tomlinson) decide to have a holiday on the Thames.
